West Ham United’s Quest for Pace: Can Luis Guilherme be the Answer?
As a long-time West Ham United supporter, I have often found myself lamenting the team’s lack of pace on the pitch. For years, we relied heavily on Michail Antonio’s speed and athleticism, but as he has begun to decline, it has become clear that we need to inject some fresh pace into the team.
The arrival of Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd has been a step in the right direction, but I still believe that we need more speed, particularly in our counter-attacking play. David Moyes’ tactics rely heavily on quick transitions, but without the pace to execute them, we often find ourselves struggling to break down opposing teams.
That’s why I was so excited to hear about Luis Guilherme, the young Brazilian player who has been labeled the fastest player in Brazil and clocked at a faster speed than Kylian Mbappé. Guilherme’s pace is exactly what we need to take our team to the next level, and I believe that he could be the answer to our prayers.
But despite his impressive credentials, Guilherme has yet to make an impact on the first team. I understand that he is still young and may need time to develop, but with our busy fixture schedule approaching, I believe that it’s time to give him a chance.
In September, we have three games in seven days, and I think that this could be the perfect opportunity to unleash Guilherme’s pace on the Premier League. Imagine a front line of Summerville on the left, Bowen central, and Guilherme on the right, with Kudus and Paqueta behind them. The thought alone sends shivers down my spine.
Of course, some may argue that Guilherme is not yet ready for the Premier League, that he needs more time to develop his skills and gain experience. But I say, why not give him a chance? What’s the worst that could happen?
We have a plethora of coaches, scouts, and directors who are supposed to be experts in identifying and developing young talent. If they believe that Guilherme is ready, then I trust their judgment.
But even if they don’t, I still think that Guilherme’s pace could be a game-changer for us. We have been crying out for someone who can stretch opposing teams, who can provide a different dimension to our attack. Guilherme could be that player.
So, I implore Lopetegui and the West Ham United coaching staff to give Luis Guilherme a chance. Let’s see what he can do, let’s unleash his pace on the Premier League. We might just be surprised at the results.
